McCaleb in 3000 Closes NCAA Indoor Championships for Men's Track & Field

BIRMINGHAM, AL (March 14, 2026) – The Tufts University men's track & field team finished its appearance at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships on Saturday at the Birmingham Crossplex with senior Cullen McCaleb running in the 3000 meters.

Competing in his second event of the meet, McCaleb finished the 3000 in an 8:39.53 time that placed 18th in a straight final.

McCaleb had anchored the distance medley relay (DMR) that placed 10th on Friday evening, earning him second team All-American honors.

With two ninth-place individual finishes by senior Josh Wilkie (60-meter hurdles) and junior Harris Gulbransen (5000 meters), and the 10th-place DMR, the Jumbos narrowly missed scoring (top eight) at the NCAA meet.

The team will continue its year with a spring break trip to the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to begin the outdoor season next Friday and Saturday (Mar. 20-21).
