MEDFORD, MA (March 7, 2026) – The Tufts University men's track & field team's distance medley relay broke the school record on Saturday at the Tufts Final Qualifier held at the Gantcher Center.
The team of senior
Quinn Hampson, senior
Cam McLeod, junior
Sam Kurian and senior
Cullen McCaleb combined on a 9:53.41 time that broke the previous school record of 9:54.92 from 2018. The Tufts time today converts to a 9:45.46 time (flat track to banked track) for national ranking purposes, which stood 11th in DIII as of Saturday evening. With 12 relays from across the nation earning NCAA berths, which will be announced tomorrow, the
Jumbos will look to hold on to a DMR qualifying spot while results from across the nation finish coming in tonight.
McCaleb individually improved his national ranking in the 3000 meters from 20th to 18th today. His converted time of 8:08.29 will also look to be good enough for one of the 20 individual berths into NCAA's for the event.
Freshman
Jack Davis ran his PR of 6.99 seconds in the 60-meter dash today. He also had a 21.53 converted time in the 200 meters that ranks 28th, which might be just outside of national qualifying once declarations for the event have been made.
The Jumbo 4x400-meter relay also improved its qualifying mark today, but not into a NCAA position. The team of sophomore
Miles Sandoski, sophomore
Tejus Verma, junior
Brady Kamali and sophomore
Sebastian Cohen put down a converted time of 3:17.06 that is #42 in the nation.
Tufts PRs were recorded today by sophomore
Seneca Wallace in the triple jump (13.96m – 45'9 ¾"), freshman
Ben Hester in the 3000 meters (8:41.53 not converted) and junior
Evan Estrada in the weight throw (11.68m – 38'4'). Junior
Casey Lambert tied his indoor PR in the long jump at 6.81m (22'4 ½").
GoTuftsJumbos.com will announce which Tufts competitors have qualified for NCAA's on Sunday.
