Josh Wilkie ran a top 10 national time while winning the 400-meter hurdles to highlight the Tufts University men's outdoor track & field team's Saturday at the Tufts Spring Invitational hosted by the Jumbos at Ellis Oval / Dussault Track.
Running in the event for the first time this outdoor season, Wilkie's time of 53.24 seconds topped the field of 26 competitors. The team's season-best time so far, it sits at #9 on the national list as of Saturday evening. He also ran in the 110-meter hurdles event today, timing 14.83 seconds for fourth place out of 27 finishers.
The Jumbos had the top five finishers in a 17-man long jump event today. Senior
Casey Lambert led the large Tufts contingent with a 6.89m (22'7 ¼") mark that was first at the meet and is just outside the national top 50. Freshman
Jaival Kang was second with his season-best of 6.85m (22'5 ¾"). Placing third through fifth were freshman
Collett Kinobe (6.77m – 22'2 ½"), senior
Sahr Matturi (6.75m – 22'1 ¾") and sophomore
Luke Benson (6.57m – 21'6 ¾"), respectively.
Tufts had three event winners overall today. Senior
Cam McLeod was fastest in the 400 meters with a time of 49.86 seconds that is his outdoor PR and the team's best mark of the season.

Konstantinos Stamatakos ran the exact same time as they did in their first race a week ago, a 42.12 that was second today.
Fitzpatrick added a pair of lead performances individually. His 10.90 was third overall and tops among eight Jumbos in the 100 meters event. He also timed 22.31 seconds (PR) in the 200 meters for 11th place. Junior
Meba Henok continued to lead the Jumbos in the 800 meters, where his 1:53.71 finish today was third out of 45 entries.
The Jumbo throwing group was led by senior
Tre Williams, who earned fourth place in the shot put with a 14.01m (45'11 ¾') heave that is his outdoor PR and the team's 2026 outdoor best thus far. He was also seventh to lead the Jumbos in the discus throw with a 40.56m (133'1") PR.
Freshman
Tieren Mead cleared 1.92m (6'3 ½") to lead Tufts in the high jump (seventh overall).
The Tufts team will head to California next week for the Pacific Coast Invitational at Long Beach State and the Brian Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific.
