AZUSA, CA / CAMBRIDGE, MA (April 18, 2026) – The Tufts University men's outdoor track & field team finished a successful three-day stretch in California with more strong performances on Saturday, led by seniors
Josh Wilkie and
Quinn Hampson.
Wilkie ran in the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles, and Hampson was in the 1500 meters field at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University on Saturday. Senior

Tieren Mead also competed at Azusa Pacific today. The Jumbos had a large group at the Sean Collier Invitational back home at MIT as well.
Wilkie continued a great week in California today. He had run a school record time of 14.28 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles at the Pacific Coast Invitational on Thursday. He ran another 110 hurdles today at Azusa Pacific, where his time of 14.38 seconds was 10th in the 35-man field and matched his second-best mark ever.
Also at the Bryan Clay meet today, Wilkie ran in the 400-meter hurdles and posted a team season-best time of 52.39 seconds. Just 0.04 off his PR (52.35), today's mark is #3 in Division III as of Friday evening. McLeod was also in the 400 hurdles today and ran 53.71 seconds, which is his second-best time ever.
Hampson ran the 1500 meters on Saturday evening and placed a strong 18th out of 186 entries, including runners from Divisions I, II and III. Hampson's 3:49.73 PR ranks him #3 at Tufts and slots into a top 15 position in the nation.
Hamilton was entered in the javelin invitational at the Bryan Clay meet and threw 59.65m (195'8") for fifth in the event. Mead was in the open javelin event and threw 47.36m (155'4"). Matturi competed in the long jump and recorded a 6.89m (22'7 ¼") mark.
Freshman pole vaulter
Jonas Michael led the Jumbo contingent at MIT on Saturday. He won the event with an outdoor season-best of 4.67m (15'3 ¾"), which is #4 all-time at Tufts and gets into the top 50 nationally.
Also at MIT, junior
Brady Kamali ran the team's season-best mark in the 400 meters with a 49.03 PR that was second out of 27 runners in the event. Freshman
Jonathan Bailey moved up into a Tufts top 10 spot with his 15.16 time in the 110-meter hurdles, which placed third out of 22 at the meet. Märten Tropp was also third, in the 400-meter hurdles (55.66), as was junior
Sami Witta for the high jump (1.93m – 6'4").
In the throws, senior
Tre Williams led the Jumbos in the shot put (12.89m – 42'3 ½"), the discus throw (40.11m – 131'7") and the hammer throw (40.77m – 133'9").
The Jumbos will compete for the NESCAC Championship next weekend (Apr. 25-26) at Williams College.
