MEDFORD, MA (May 12, 2026) – For the first time in Tufts University's baseball program history, the Jumbos will host an NCAA Tournament Regional Round this weekend (May 15-17) at Sol Gittleman Park.
The Jumbos (30-9), hold the top seed entering the Regional and will welcome #2 seed Kean University (29-11-1), #3 seed Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (31-13), and #4 seed Mitchell College (29-12). The Regional series is a double-elimination tournament, and the winner will advance to the NCAA Super Regionals which take place May 22-23.
Tufts will matchup against Mitchell in the opening game of the weekend on Friday at 11 AM, while Kean will take on Claremont M-S at 2:30 PM. Three games are scheduled for Saturday (11 AM, 2:30 PM, 6:30 PM), and on Sunday there will be one guaranteed game at 11 AM and if necessary the final contest of the tournament will take place at 2:30 PM.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, $5 for children 3-12, and free for children 3 and under. There is no tournament pass, only day tickets.

A Look at Tufts / NESCAC Champions / 2026 NPI Ranking: 8
The Jumbos proved to be a well balanced squad all season as they had a team batting average of .313 which ranked third in the NESCAC and lead the conference with a team ERA of 4.30.
Jack Kamin has seen the ball well at the plate all season as he enters the weekend with a .437 batting average which ranks second in the NESCAC.
James Henshon has been a strong bat for the Jumbos all season as he leads the conference in triples with nine and has five more than the nearest batter in the NESCAC. The Jumbos post 7.59 runs per game and have a team OPS of .873.
Tufts relied on their talented pitching staff in tightly contested games this season. The team led the NESCAC in saves (10), walks (109), and ERA (4.30) while ranking second in strikeouts (284), opposing batting average (.258), and earned runs (155).
Cole Donato headlined the starters with nine total wins and
Derek Desmarais leads the NESCAC in saves with eight.
Henshon ranked second in the conference with 25 fielder double plays, while
Malcolm Whitfield ranks inside the top 10 with five runners caught stealing. On paper, Tufts is the best defensive team heading into the weekend with a team fielding percentage of .974 which currently ranks tenth nationally.
A Look at Kean / NJAC Quarterfinalists / 2026 NPI Ranking: 28
Similar to Tufts, Kean is another crew that stands out on both sides of the ball. Kean sits in third in their conference with a team batting average of .322, 357 runs, and 323 RBI. The Cougars rank second in the NJAC with 463 hits. Tyler Stone is the top hitter with a .380 batting average and a 1.097 OPS in 150 plate appearances. Stone ranks second in the NJAC with 51 RBI and 91 total bases. Jude Clough follows just behind Stone with a batting clip of .364 and holds a top three spot in the conference in doubles with 13.
On the pitching side, Lucas White is the ace with a 3.47 ERA which ranks second in his conference and leads the Cougars with a 6-1 record in nine starts. Cal Chase is the closer for Kean and holds the conference lead for saves with three. Chase has a 4.17 ERA and a 2-1 overall record in 15 appearances on the mound.
Kean ranks second in the NJAC and inside the top 40 nationally with a team fielding percentage of .969 and 432 assists.
A Look at Claremont M-S / SCIAC Finalists / 2026 NPI Ranking: 37
Claremont M-S comes to Medford as a powerful offensive squad as they led the SCIAC with a team batting average of .348, 538 hits, and 92 home runs, which also leads all of division III baseball. The Stags also rank second in the SCIAC with 460 RBI and a .431 on base percentage. Alex Henderson and Bryce Didrickson lead Claremont with the exact same batting average of .412 in 44 games played each. Henderson is a force at the place as he enter the weekend with an OPS of 1.329 and a conference-leading 18 home runs along with 60 RBI.
Defensively, the Stags recorded a 5.42 team ERA on the season with a 1.53 WHIP. Kody Perry highlights the starters with an overall record of 7-1 in 13 starts and has one complete game. Parker McGraw has made 20 relief appearances this season and leads his team with three saves and has an overall record of 4-4.
Claremont ranks inside the top ten nationally in batting average (.348-7th), hits (538-3rd), runs (444-8th), and slugging percentage (.600-3rd).
A Look at Mitchell / GNA Champions / 2026 NPI Ranking: 67
Mitchell is another potent team at the dish as they come into the weekend with the best GNAC team batting average of .342. They also led their respective conference in extra base hits (135), hits (468), and runs (390). The Mariners have been speedy on the base paths as well as they led the GNAC in stolen bases with 109 and total bases with 668. Nicholas Bracale leads the charge offensively for Mitchell with a .388 batting average which is tied for sixth in his conference.
The Mariners have maintained a solid pitching staff all season as well as they led the GNAC with a team ERA of 4.63. Mitchell ranks second in the conference in runs against with 222 and a conference-best WHIP of 1.50. Thai-ler Sestokas and Andrew Manzo are the top two starters for this Mariner squad as they have a combined 12-1 record this season in 16 total starts. Sestokas fired a team-best ERA of 2.08 while Manzo sits with a 1.25 WHIP in 10 total appearances. Dom Yarson made nine relief appearances and five starts for Mitchell as he enters the regional with a 7-2 record and followed just behind Sestokas with an ERA of 2.11.
The Mariners cracked the top 50 nationally with their 4.63 team ERA mark and is tied for 13th nationally with five team shutouts.
What's Next?
The winner the Regional hosted by Tufts will move on to the Super Regional round and face the winner of a Regional event taking place at Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland. Teams from that Regional include host Salisbury (32-9) who holds the seventh best NPI ranking, Mount Union (31-10) who holds the 23rd best NPI ranking, Hobart (30-13) who ranks 45th in NPI, and Bridgewater State (30-8) who sits in 62nd in the NPI rankings. The winner of the Super Regional will play in the NCAA DIII Finals in Eastlake, OH staring on May 28.
