MEDFORD, MA (May 26, 2026) – Five Jumbos from the Tufts University baseball team were recognized by D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) as
Jack Kamin,
Cole Donato,
Derek Desmarais,
James Henshon, and
Emmet Christian all earned All-Region selections for their standout contributions during the 2026 season.
Kamin was picked to the first team for both the d3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 1 squads. The sophomore had a breakout spring for Tufts as he led the squad and ranked second in the NESCAC with an eye opening .442 batting average in 156 at bats. Kamin also paced the Jumbos with 45 RBI, 96 total bases, a .478 on-base percentage, a 1.093 OPS, and a .615 slugging percentage. Kamin also added 11 doubles, three triples, and ranked second on Tufts with four home runs. Kamin put together a 19-game hit streak during the season which marked the longest streak in program history since 2014.
Donato was placed on the first team of both the d3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 1 crews and earned ABCA Region 1 Pitcher of the Year honors. The senior was the ace for the Jumbos this season as he led the NESCAC and Tufts with nine wins. Donato also ranked third in the NESCAC with a 2.40 ERA in 12 appearances on the bump. The Walpole native headlined all Jumbo starters with a 1.16 WHIP and ranked second on the squad with 61 strikeouts compared to 20 walks.
Desmarais was the lone reliever selected to the first team of the d3baseball.com All-Region 1 teams. The sophomore closer led the NESCAC with eight saves in 19 appearances. The right hander was a nightmare to opposing batters as he struck out 31 batters compared to just five walks. Desmarais held a .94 WHIP throughout the season which ranks second on the Jumbos and registered a positive 3-2 record.
Henshon was named to the first team of the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 1 selections and took home d3baseball.com All-Region Third Team honors. The sophomore finished the season with the third best batting average on the Jumbos of .337 and ranked second on the squad with a 1.012 OPS. Henshon proved his speed on the base paths as he led the NESCAC with nine triples was a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen base attempts. The Wellesley native ranked third on the Jumbos with three home runs and 36 RBI and ended the spring in second with a .583 slugging percentage.
Christian was the only Jumbo put on the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 1 Second Team. The sophomore stepped up in big moments for Tufts all season as he finished the year as a certified second ace, ranking third in the conference with an 8-1 record and two complete games. The North Carolina native led the Jumbos with 63 whiffed batters in 63.1 total innings on the mound and held a 1.17 WHIP which ranked second amongst Tufts starters.
