Three From Men's Track & Field Compete at Northeastern's Solomon Track on Saturday

BOSTON, MA (May 2, 2026) – Three members of the Tufts University men's outdoor track & field team were at Northeastern University's Solomon Track on Saturday to compete at the Jay Carisella / Joe Donahue Coaches Invitational.

Freshman Chris Barbato and Joey Papanicholas ran in the 1500 meters. In a field of 78 runners, Papanicholas ran his season-best time of 4:00.55 for 46th place. Barbato was 56th with a 4:04.05 mark.

Senior Tre Williams was in the shot put event, where his 12.96m (42'6 ¼") was 15th in a 21-man field.

The Tufts team also competed at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships this weekend, where the Jumbos were fifth.

Next week the Jumbos have the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championships and the F.I.R.E. Meet at Williams College on their schedule.
