Quinn Hampson and
Josh Wilkie both broke school records on Saturday as the Tufts University men's track & field team competed on the second day of Williams College's F.I.R.E. Meet and the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships hosted by Stonehill College.
Wilkie exploded for a time of 14.10 seconds in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles at the NEICAAA meet, breaking his own school record (14.28) set earlier this year by 0.18 seconds. Today's time is ranked eighth nationally in Division III as of this afternoon. Wilkie was also below the former record in the 110 hurdles final with a 14.24 mark for second place.
At the Williams meet, Hampson ran a 3:49.14 school record in the 1500 meters, which topped the nine-year old previous mark of 3:49.25 held by Christian Swenson. Fifth in a competitive field at Williams, Hampson's mark ranks 16th nationally as of Saturday afternoon. Senior
Cullen McCaleb was right behind Hampson in the 1500, running a 3:49.89 time that ranks him third all-time at Tufts and 23rd nationally for the 2026 outdoor season.
Sophomore
Luke Benson recorded his season-best mark in the triple jump today at Williams. His 14.51m (47'7") distance on his second attempt of the day was second out of 16 individuals at the meet and ranks 22nd nationally.
The Jumbos scored well in five events at the NEICAAA meet today, accumulating 34 points to finish sixth among Division I, II and III teams. Tufts was the top D3 team in the standings.

Brady Kamali was second at NEICAAA's with a 3:14.92 mark that was just off their season-best (3:14.08). McLeod also led the Jumbos in the 400-meter hurdles at the NEICAAA meet with his time of 53.32 seconds for third place, while freshman
Eliot Monick ran seventh in the event (55.02).
Freshman
Jack Davis placed fourth in the NEICAAA 200 with a time of 21.62 seconds, while the high jump event had junior
Sami Witta in sixth and freshman
Tieren Mead eighth with 1.91m (6'3 ¼") marks. Freshman
Jonathan Bailey added to the scoring in the 110-meter hurdles final with an eighth-place finish of 15.08 seconds. He made the final with a 14.86 preliminary mark.
The F.I.R.E. Meet at Williams did not have team scoring. Two Jumbos were among the top six in the 17-man long jump as senior
Casey Lambert placed third (6.94m – 22'9 ¼") and classmate
Sahr Matturi was sixth (6.61m – 21'8 ¼").
In other events at Williams, junior
Meba Henok led Tufts in the 800 meters with a 1:53.10 time that was 13th out of 50 entries in the event. Freshman Reese Sinclair topped Tufts in the shot put at 12.63m (41'5 ½'), senior
Martin Decker had a 46.92m (153'11") hammer throw for 13th place and freshman
William Cipollone threw the javelin 41.65m (136'8") for 16th place.
The Jumbos will have their final opportunity to improve or record NCAA qualifying marks at the MIT Last Chance Meet on Thursday (May 14).
