PRIOR TO TUFTS: Attended Woodberry Forest School in Orange, Virginia, where he competed in football and track & field for the Tigers...A varsity letterwinner in track & field, he also competed as a cornerback on the football team and earned All-State honors as a senior in both the indoor 500 meters and outdoor 4x800-meter relay. He set school records in the 4x400-meter relay (3:21.85) and recorded the third-fastest indoor 500-meter time in program history (1:08.26)...He helped lead Woodberry Forest to multiple championships, including three Outdoor Virginia Independent School titles, two Outdoor Virginia Prep League championships, three Indoor Virginia Independent School titles and two Indoor Virginia Prep League championships...In the classroom, he was a four-year Walker Scholar with a GPA above 4.0 and earned High Honors recognition on seven occasions.
